Animal02

Animal at his drum set.

Performer: Frank Oz (1975-1999), Eric Jacobson (2002-present)

Animal is the drummer for the Electric Mayhem band and in the Orchestra. He first appeared in The Muppet Show being performed by Frank Oz. He was always known as the crazed and loud drummer. He has three styles of music that he can play, loud, louder, and deafining. He always was known for destruction and being crazed, and is known for his loud repeated words. "WOMAN! WOMAN!" "DRUMS DRUMS!" "SEAT CUSHION!"

It's been established that he is owned by Floyd Pepper, or at least semi-controlled by him. Floyd is always holding Animal's chains and trying to control him.

He has had roles in all of the Muppet Movies. In The Muppet Movie he ate some of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's Insta Grow Pills causing him to grow ten times his size and scare away Doc Hopper. He also appeared in The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets From Space, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.

It is believed the character of Animal is based at least in part upon the likeness of Keith Moon, drummer for the seminal British rock band The Who.

Animal has had many action figures made of his likeness in the Palisades Toys Muppet Show action figures line. In Series 2, the first was released with the Electric Mayhem Stage playset, then soon after a Tour Animal from Wizard World 2003, and late 2004 three varients were released and known as Animal 2, the three varients were given to omgcnfo.com, collectorsparadise.com, and killertoys.com.
